Hello everybody, this past week was one of the most exciting experiences i have had so far. Don't get wrong I am loving the soundscan, DMAs, and the PIM and what not, but I was ready for the this week. I was able to sit in on a artist discussion at the Best Buy Corporate Offices. This week they were able to bring Ludacris, one of my favorite hip hop artist. I was very shocked to see how Luda presented him self when he came in, he had excellent public speaking skills, this might be do to the fact that he used to be a DJ. Luda discussed his new album coming out in December, and what we could expect from it. He said that they were going to take a different approach to writing and mixing the album. The album is called "Theater of the Mind" it takes the approach of making what you hear to be very cinematic or very theatrical, in not only lyrics but maybe even a plot over the course of the album. The album is going to be mix in 5.1 surround sound as well as his music videos. His videos are now being shot in HD and blue ray for the even more up close experience. He showed us many of the new tunes on the album as well, we were some of the first to hear them as well, very good stuff coming this winter. After the discussion we were able to meet and talk to Island Defjam Crew icluding: Ludacris, his manager, and the president and CEO of Island Defjam, very fun experience, wont ever forget it.

Luda... most definitely one of my favorite artist! Maybe there's a chance he'll come through the Urban Network office here in LA???
